Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Services (STARS) recognizes National Occupational Therapy Month this April. Occupational therapy promotes the highest level of recovery through the use of everyday occupational life activities. If an injury prevents you from performing daily activities such as brushing your teeth, feeding yourself, walking up and down stairs, or driving, occupational therapy can help you regain these skills and achieve independence.
At STARS, our team of highly trained occupational therapists will evaluate your injury or condition, establish appropriate functional goals and guide you through a customized treatment plan to achieve those objectives in order to help you achieve and maintain maximum independence!
STARS offers the most comprehensive occupational therapy services and treatments in Southwest Idaho including: certified hand therapy and upper extremity specialists, orthopedic rehabilitation, arthritis management, neurological and cognitive rehabilitation, return to work services, and driving evaluations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our occupational therapists and all of the wonderful work that they do for our patients!
Occupational therapy is offered at many of our locations! For more information, please visit our website at www.starspt.org».
April is also National Youth Sports Safety Month. This is a good reminder to parents of young athletes to educate themselves about the risk of injuries, especially concussions and other injuries that are associated with their child’s chosen sport.
The injuries typically associated with Youth Sports are: concussions, sprains and strains, broken bones, repetitive motion injuries, and heart related-illnesses.
