About the South Meridian Family YMCA Project
The South Meridian Family YMCA will be a family health and wellness and recreation facility located near Eagle and Amity Roads in Meridian, Idaho.
The 62,000-square-foot facility will provide a place and programs that foster individual and community growth, development, and wellness for children, adults, and families. It will be part of a larger partnership aimed at addressing the education, literacy, recreation, health, and wellness needs of the entire region. Design and construction plans include youth development centers, fitness areas, group exercise studios, family locker rooms, gathering space, gyms, classrooms, a teaching kitchen, and 8,000 square feet that will be operated by the Y and St. Luke’s where the community can access disease prevention and rehabilitation support services.
The Y is part of a larger partnership devoted to the education, literacy, recreation, health, and wellness needs of the entire region. The project vision includes a Meridian city park (slated to break ground in Spring of 2017), Hillsdale Elementary School (a West Ada School District school that is already open and serving over 500 students), a Meridian Library District branch*, and an indoor aquatic center*.
Support the project today! Every gift helps us get closer to breaking ground and bringing a full-service Family YMCA to your Meridian community! Be sure to select “South Meridian YMCA” as your gift designation.
Both the Meridian Library District branch and indoor aquatic center have bond measures on the November 8, 2016, Ballot. These bonds are asking tax payers to help pay for the construction of the facilities. Learn more at the links below.
