Fall Camp Work Day
Can you believe it? Fall is just around the corner, and it is almost time to put the Y Camp: Horsethief Reservoir to bed for the winter. To do that, we need some help. Our final work day of the year will be on Saturday, October 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can work all of it or just part of it, but we’d love to see as many of you as possible. You are welcome to arrive on Friday evening (no earlier than 5pm) and spend the night so that you can be bright eyed and bushy tailed early Saturday morning!
Please RSVP to YCamp@ymcatvidaho.org and put "Camp Work Day" in the subject line. Please include in your e-mail the following:
- Names of workers – please indicate children if under the age of 12
- Arriving Friday or Saturday
- Whether you can bring your own chainsaw
- Special meal needs, i.e. vegetarian, gluten free, food allergies, etc.
We have all kinds of projects that need to be completed, some MAY include:
- Deep Cleaning – kitchen, cabins, and other facilities
- Cutting and splitting wood
- Clearing brush
- Painting storage containers and touch up painting in all facilities
- Water sealing the main stage, foot bridges, all picnic tables, and wooden benches
- Putting away and organizing equipment
- Possibly planting small trees
- Path and trail maintenance
- Cleaning and upkeep of fire pits
- Assembling new picnic tables
- Minor repairs on challenge course (beginner wood working)
