I recently had the opportunity to hear Boise School District’s Superintendent, Don Coberly, speak at our Rotary Club. We have many great schools in this valley, and Boise certainly sets a standard for excellence.
While Don did not speak specifically to Common Core, he definitely made a compelling case for it. After hearing Don, I am more convinced than ever that the implementation of Common Core standards will help get more of our youth ready for college, careers, and the competition in what is becoming truly a global marketplace. Idaho's future economic health depends on turning out students who can be successful in this global marketplace. If you get a chance to hear Don speak in the future, I would highly encourage that you do so.
