Southwest Idaho’s largest competitive basketball league offers players the opportunity to compete for their local high school all while learning the values of sportsmanship, effort, respect, and teamwork with a focus on maintaining healthy lifestyles and relationships. Treasure Valley AAU is committed to providing players with a positive playing experience. Through YMCA leadership, volunteer coaches as positive role models, and parents/families providing positive and continuous support, AAU basketball is a platform for players to improve their game within a competitive environment and foster a lifelong pursuit of health.
Through a strong relationship with our local school districts our goal is to have a varsity and junior varsity team within each level of play for every high school in the Treasure Valley. The program gives players the opportunity to play together and create team bonds prior to entering their high school years thus strengthening the high school program and community overall.

All tryouts will be held at the Homecourt YMCA located at 936 W. Taylor Ave. Meridian, ID 83642
Tryout Session 1: February 18th

*Players may attend either tryout session and only need to attend ONE.
Tryouts are held 1 – 2 months prior to season start. This allows proper time for season organization including, but not limited to, facility management, coach recruitment/training, team formation/selection, practice arrangements, and more. All players MUST provide verification of grade and school. Accepted documents include school ID card, class registration or prior year’s report card.

Based on past numbers tryouts at this level are not applicable. Players may register and will be placed according to location and playing history. Coaches may work with families to play together as a 9th grade team at this level as well. For more information contact us at email@example.com
ALL PLAYERS must be registered and paid prior to or on the day of tryouts to be placed on a team. Registration is available at any Y location or can be done online. Several workstations will be available for registration during tryout check-in as well.

No child will be turned away due to inability to pay. We support those families in need. Please print and fill out the above form. Simply email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop it off at the YMCA Sports office in your local facility.
Payment Plans are also available. Please email or call the YMCA Sports Office for assistance.
AAU Player Card Fee: $14 per player $16 per coach
The National Amateur Athletic Union requires all coaches & players to be current AAU members in order to participate in AAU sanctioned leagues, games, or events. As a sanctioned AAU program, Treasure Valley AAU requires all players & coaches obtain an AAU membership card prior to games beginning.
You will be given the option to allow the YMCA to purchase and obtain your membership through registration. If you elect this option your membership will be purchased the day practices begin. You will be provided information on hoe to obtain your membership once purchased should you need it after the season.
Player/Coach Membership not purchased through the YMCA must be provided during registration or emailed to email@example.com . Those who do not provide proof of membership may not participate until membership is obtained.
Start the week of April 3
Practice locations and times are arranged via the team coach or parent representative.
NOTE: Based on the limited gym availability teams may need to share a middle school or junior high gym.
Games are on Saturdays 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Players play two games a day with a minimum 1.25 hours between games. Please note all games are held in the West Ada School District in Meridian and Eagle.

Coaching & Volunteering
Positive role models needed! Each and every coach is screened through a coach selection process and a background check is completed.
When the opportunity exists, a non-parent with a background working with youth and coaching basketball, is given priority in the coach selection process. This preference is to eliminate any possible or perceived bias when it comes to team and player management.
That said, the MAJORITY of our greatest coaches have been mothers and fathers. These individuals were passionate about treating each player with equal respect and providing equal instruction. Playing time may vary per player but instruction should not.
