Healthy Lungs and Heart is a low-impact class that focuses on improving cardiovascular and pulmonary function through cardio, strength, and flexibility training. Designed for anyone who would like to continue in a Phase III Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab format (BP and blood O2 are monitored daily) or anyone who is building (or rebuilding) cardiovascular endurance following becoming deconditioned. This small group program, led by an Oxygen Certified Instructor, begins with recording participants’ blood pressure and blood O2 then participants are instructed in the safe use of equipment such as the stationary bike or treadmill – the strength portion is supervised allowing class members the opportunity to achieve improved function in daily activities of life (ADLs) and improved quality of life.
