AboutWest Boise

YPolo is a volunteer-run organization that began as a group of Masters aged, former water polo players who wanted to continue their love of the sport in Idaho. It was started by Jim Everett and Steve Koga shortly after the first Olympic-sized swimming pool opened in Boise.

In 2007 the club embarked on an aggressive effort to spread the sport to players of all ages and abilities. The club will be sponsoring many clinics, camp and events to give kids of all ages the change to try the sport and see how enjoyable water polo is.

YPolo Masters provides players of all abilities the opportunity to learn the game, improve their skills, compete in tournament and most importantly, scrimmage weekly with a fun and diverse group of people.

YPolo Masters practices on Monday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Practices are a combination of skills and drills followed by a lengthy scrimmage. The co-ed team travels to one to three regional tournaments each year and hosts a tournamnet at the West Y each spring. This coed team currently has over 50 active members. Poly WogsWest Boise

Poly Wog Polo is open to kids aged 6-12 years of age and is focused on introducing kids to water polo in a fun atmosphere. Poly Wogs will be introduced to the basics of throwing, catching, passing and shooting the ball. They will not need to be able to tread water since the lessons will be taught in shallow water where they can stand. Fun versions of water polo will be played such as Inner tube water polo where all players sit in inner tubes and pass and shoot the ball. The kids love our fun activities and you’ll love watching them learn respect for one another, boost their swimming skills and water confidence and have a great time.
