The nationally acclaimed Stott certified mat program is designed to strengthen the abdominals and back through stabilization of both the arms and legs, returning our bodies to their natural curves and alignment. All exercises are performed on a mat. Classes are formatted in small groups, allowing for individual one-on-one attention.

Pilates Personal TrainingWest Boise

Training will incorporate the reformer mat, bosu, circle, and foam rollers. The focus will be on technique and postural issues.

Pilates Pre-Requisite Downtown BoiseWest Boise

*You must attend this class before attending any other Pilates classes.

Prior to attending a Pilates Mat, Pilates Reformer or Pilates Chair classes, new students must complete the Basic Principles course. This course introduces students to techniques, cues and movements of pilates. This class will focus specifically on breathing, pelvic, ribcage and head placement as well as shoulder stabilization. Then, using these concepts in the Essential Workout, to help to build core strength and flexibility as well as bring awareness to body alignment. Students will be introduced to all equipment used in mat classes as well as the chair equipment (Downtown) or Pilates Reformer (West Y) during the last session.

There is a fee for this class, as all the mat and chair classes are free with your membership. The Basic Principles class is truly an educational training, providing all the tools and information needed to prepare one to experience all the benefits possible from incorporating pilates into their wellness routines. This policy helps ensure the safety of all our students.

A class based on the basic principles that builds abdominal strength and endurance around spinal stabilization. Class is limited to four participants. 55 minute classes.

Is another combination of Pilate’s core work and strength training. Equipment such as Bosu and stability balls are used in combinations with free weights and other equipment for a total body work out.
