ABC’S of Early Pregnancy
The ABC’s of Early Pregnancy is designed to give an overview of pregnancy, reduce stress and anxiety, help you make informed decisions, and come to place deeper trust in the birth process.

Baby and Me Support Group
Ongoing FREE educational support group for new parents and their babies (0-12 months).

Baby Signing
Sign language for babies allows parents to boost their child’s language skills while enhancing the parent-child bond in a fun way! Topics include: introduction to signing, benefits of signing, how to choose the best sign system for you and your child, how to teach your child to sign, and basic sign vocabulary practice.
Baby Signing is taught by a Speech/Language Pathologist, uniquely qualified to teach sign based on an in-depth understanding of communication and development.

Baby Sitting Safely
Designed for girls and boys to learn the basics about baby sitting safely. An interactive, hands-on course that includes child development, feeding, diapering techniques and basic first aid as well as games, songs, safety tips, and activities for young children. Cost includes the American Heart Association book, Family Friends™ First Aid for Children. CPR is not taught in this class.
Age: 11-15
Fee: Member: $30. Non-Member: $50.

Childbirth Preparation
Lamaze™ International, the organization that sets the standard in childbirth preparation classes, has named Saint Alphonsus a Lamaze Approved Provider. Saint Alphonsus is the only medical center in the area with this distinction. Saint Alphonsus offers a variety of classes to help prepare for the birth of your baby. Special classes for teen moms.

CPR for Babysitters and Parents
Learn how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Developed by the American Heart Association, this course provides hands-on instruction in CPR and airway obstruction (choking), and includes the book: Family & Friends™ CPR.

Eating Disorders Support Group
This FREE group meets weekly on Mondays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and is facilitated by Millie Smith, LCPC. Please call 343-3131 for more information.
Happiest Baby on the Block
New babies are such a blessing, but they can also bring with them sleepless nights, crying, and sometimes quite a bit of extra stress. In our Happiest Baby class, based on Dr. Harvey Karp’s best-selling book, “Happiest Baby on the Block,” you will learn:
- how to help your baby sleep better
- how to soothe even the fussiest baby in minutes
- why most babies get more upset in the evening
- why it’s impossible to spoil young babies
- an easy way to help infants sleep longer at night
- why fathers are often the best baby calmers

Hypnobirthing
Learn relaxation techniques to eliminate fear, tension, and pain. Achieve birth fulfillment--awake and alert--in a totally relaxed state of mind and body.

Newborn Care and Parenting
A “hands-on” class for first time parents to help with newborn care and parenting, and address parenting concerns. Topics include: Car Seat Safety, Feeding and Diapering, Calming Techniques, Sleep Patterns, Choking, and Newborn Characteristics. Appointments for a carseat check are available at the end of class.

Taming the Toddler
This four-week class series is designed for children one to three years of age. It will help you understand how your child develops during this age period and what motivates their behavior. You will also learn techniques that will allow your child the freedom to explore, learn and develop their own personality, while helping them understand limits.
