The Spring Sprint Triathlon is a great triathlon for beginners or seasoned triathletes. Whether you are an adult or a youth you can select the distance that works for you and your training. Come join the fun and give the Spring Sprint a try!
Long Course: 750 Yard Swim - 12.5 Mile Bike - 3.1 Mile Run
All participants will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Short Course: 200 Yard Swim - 5 Mile Bike - 1 Mile Run
All participants will begin at 9:15 a.m.

Downtown Y AM Swim: 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Downtown Y PM Swim: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Caldwell Y PM Swim: 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Caldwell Y is the only location with swim slots available!

This twleve week training plan runs from January 12th to April 6th, 2013. Workouts are written by the Tri Cub coaches specifically for the Spring Sprint Triathlon and includes group workouts, talks, and a transition clinic to prepare for the bike to run transition. Fee includes the use of Training Peaks and the online training tool.

Long Course participants will swim 750 yards (15 laps).
Short Course participants will swim 200 yards (4 laps).
Indoor water swim will be Friday, April 5, 2013.
Participants may choose from the following locations.
- Downtown Family YMCA: 1050 West State Street in Downtown Boise.
- West Family YMCA: 5959 Discovery Way in West Boise.
- Caldwell Family YMCA: 3720 S Indiana in Caldwell.
Participants will be seeded in order of estimated swim time at each location. Estimated swim time and lane assignments will be available the day before the race on this website and at the front desk of all YMCA branches. Swimmers will be seeded fastest to slowest unless you request a specific time.
Late sign-ups (after the registration deadline) will be added at the end of the schedule.
All Wheelchair Athletes will start 5 minutes before regularly scheduled start times.
The bike and run portion of the race will be on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Camels Back Park in Downtown Boise. Short Course participants will begin at 9:15 a.m. Long Course participants will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Participants will start in order of their actual swim finish time for the road race portion. Cyclists will go right on Heron then right again at 13th. All participants will turn right on 15th, then left on Parkhill and left again on Bogus Basin Road then right back onto Hill Road. Bikers will proceed down Hill Road to the appropriate turn-around point.
Long Course participants will turn around at Hill Road, 6.25 miles from the start, then return to Camel’s Back Park. Short Course participants will turn around just before 36th Street.
Mainly flat run course will start immediately following the bike course. Runners will follow path in the grass parallel to Heron and proceed east to the Willow Area. After turning around, runners will return to Heron, finishing near the Camel’s Back Park tennis courts.
Long Course participants will proceed to 8th street and go left on 8th Street until the turn around point. (3.1 mile course) Short Course participants turn around in the willows area by the reservoir. (1 mile course)

Are you a great runner, but hate swimming? Get some friends together and form a relay team for the Spring Sprint Triathlon! All it takes is two or three people (one person can do two legs); a swimmer, biker and runner to sign up as a relay team. Have your team captain register all participants to get the relay team rate.

Get a group together from your office, school, church, family, or just a group of friends! Forming a team is a great way to take a step toward healthy living, and helps to build a network of people to encourage you in your fitness goals. Teams need to consist of 10 or more people. All team members will race under the same team name, but may race separately. Team participants can register online. Just ask all team members to enter your team name and team captain's name online to get the team rate. Packet Pick-Up: Packets will be available throughout the swim portion of the race at each location on Friday, April 5th.
Downtown Family YMCA (pool): 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. OR 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
West Family YMCA (pool): 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Caldwell Family YMCA (pool): 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
To ensure a smooth run event and a good time for everyone, we ask that you read and adhere to the following race instructions.
Race Refund Policy:
Cancelations made 8 or more days prior to the race will receive a full refund minus a $5 processing fee. Cancelations made within 7 or less days prior to the race will receive a 50% refund minus a $5.00 processing fee. There are no race day refunds and no refunds after the race.
Registrations received after the open registration deadline date will receive a t-shirt the day of the race.
