ROOKIES PROGRAMS: Ages 4-6
Designed for our early learners, Rookie programs provide children a safe and nurturing place for their first sports experience. The fundamentals of each sport are taught to small groups. Rookies Camps provide children a 4 day experience immersed in their soon to be favorite sport. Rookies Leagues provide children their very first league experience, which includes their own uniform, work with their very own coach and real games.
CAMPS: Ages 6-12
The Y offers camps in a variety of sports. These programs are perfect for all experience levels, from the beginner to the expert. During each day of camp, players are coached by qualified YMCA staff or volunteers in the fundamental skills of each sport, taught the rules of the game and challenged to become self-aware and self-confident through a variety of fun activities and, of course, game time.
Y LEAGUES: Ages 5-16
Y sports leagues are a great place for any level player. Our emphasis is on fun, skill development, teamwork and age appropriate league play. Once placed on a team, players practice once or twice per week and play one game per week. All players receive equal playing time regardless of their experience or ability. Through positive interactions with coaches and peers, your child can learn to be a better player and a better teammate. At the Y, to play is to win!
AAU CAMPS & LEAGUES: Grades 2nd-9th
AAU porgrams provide players a high-level, competitive, yet compassionate atmoshphere to take their basketball skills to the next level. Camps provide players up-tempo practice sessions focused on challenging each player to improve their skills and their self-confidence on and off the court.
Volunteers are utilized as coaches or referees in many of our programs. If you have experience in any of these sports or enjoy working with children, apply to be a Y Volunteer!
