Enrichment Programs

Enrichment classes are fun, safe, and educational. Led by trained and friendly YMCA staff, each class encourages your child to learn a new skill while having a great time with friends.

The students meet in the lunchroom for a tasty snack; after snack, each class will meet with their teacher for activities and fun until 5:30pm. Please pick up your child and sign them out no later than 5:40pm.

Fee: $60

Schedule: Classes run for two weeks, Monday through Thursday
3:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Location: Ponderosa Elementary School
Enrichment classes are available at any elementary school in Boise or Meridian. To inquire about starting a class at your school, please call the Youth Development Director.

Big EngineersWest BoiseMeridian/Eagle (Homecourt Branch)

Ages: 2nd Grade - 5th Grade


Simple Machines: Using building kits and legos, students learn how to use pulleys, levers, wheels and axels, and gears. This class helps prepare students for all of the engineering and robotics classes.

Date: January 17-26, 2012


Battlebots: Using legos, solar panels, and imagination, students build battlebots that are the envy of any transformer!

Date: January 30-February 9, 2012


Cityscape: Students plan and build their city with a group of peers. From the zoo to   McDonalds, to the water plant, it is amazing to watch the students’ build their city using legos and creativity.

Date: February 13-24 


Amusement Park: Roller coasters, twirl a whirl, and ferris wheels are all part of what students build with their friends during this class.

Date: March 12-22

Little EngineersWest BoiseMeridian/Eagle (Homecourt Branch)

Age: Kindergarten-1st Grade

Structures: Students will learn about balance, building, stability within structures, design and problem solving as they build models out of lego sets.

All kids have a chance to shine as they learn to sing, dance, and act. At the end of each session the kids will perform for family and friends.
