Whether you are interested in becoming a Health Coach, lifeguard, or advancing professionally through our Leadership tracks, you can access a wide range of Training and Certifications opportunities at your Treasure Valley Family YMCA. Gain the skills and knowledge you need to provide care and act in an emergency with a Y certification.

For a limited time, we are paying for staff training certifications for new hires, including Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications—that’s up to a $225 value! The Y will also cover costs for childcare licensing, CPR/First Aid certification, as well as provide an additional $300/monthly wage enhancement from the Idaho Dept. Health & Welfare.

CPR/AED

Participants will learn the skills and knowledge needed to provide basic life support in an emergency.

Basic First Aid

This class teaches crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, and seizures.

Babysitting

This one-day course includes an ASHI-Approved Certification card and can help young adults interview for suitable babysitting positions. Participants will learn how to choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, prevent injuries, be prepared if an emergency happens, handle bedtime issues, and more!

Lifeguarding

The curriculum includes Lifeguarding certification, Basic Life Support, which includes CPR and AED Essentials, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
