Giving Tuesday

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It was born as an idea at a community center in New York, the 92nd Street Y, and has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity in more than 70 countries!

Give to the Treasure Valley YMCA, and donations are being matched by Lysi Bishop Real Estate, up to $25,000!

The Y changes lives thanks to your donations. Our Financial Assistance program provided more than $1.2 million in assistance to local youth and families this year.

A high school student in Boise was missing classes because they were caring for a toddler sibling while their mother worked. Thanks to your donations, the toddler is being cared for by loving YMCA staff while the mother is at work.

“We are a family of 6, and 3 of my children have special needs, and I have multiple chronic illnesses. Our medical, dental, and therapy costs are high. My children have thrived in the THRIVE program. For the first time in their lives, they found a place where they could be exactly who they are and celebrated and included. I am so grateful that we found the Y”.
