Aquatic Center Guidelines

THE NEW ONLINE RESERVATION PLATFORM IS HERE!

This new service will allow us to better maintain capacity and better serve our members altogether.

This improved system will allow you to optimize your time and maximize the convenience of signing up for classes and appointments on-the-go from our Treasure Valley Family YMCA platform.

For more information including step-by-step directions to creating an account and registering for classes, see ymcatvidaho.org/reservations.

The following guidelines have been made:

  • To follow federal, state, and local government guidelines as well as CDC, CDH, and other health guidelines regarding COVID-19.
  • To follow Governor Little’s staged re-opening plan.
  • To follow the recommendations of Y-USA in phased aquatics opening.
  • And to keep the Y’s promise to only open when it is safe and responsible.

You will see some changes on the pool deck. Some areas or features will remain closed and we ask you to please adhere to all signage.

Y staff will clean high touch surfaces and high traffic areas throughout the day and in between each reservation group.

Open swim—families or individuals

  • All swimmers, including parent/guardian, must register for open swim time through the Open Swim Reservations page. Each swimmer must have a reservation. Those without a reservation will not be permitted to swim.
  • All swimmers 18 and under must take a swim test at the beginning of each visit.
  • A parent/guardian must stay within arm’s reach of their kids in the kiddie pool.
  • A parent/guardian must stay within arm’s reach of all red-necklace level swimmers.
  • Household units should physical distance from others.
  • Pool noodles, barbells, or other equipment provided for water exercise classes may NOT be used for open swim.

Water fitness classes
Reservation only

  • All participants under 18 years old must be able to pass the green swim test.
  • All participants under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age. This adult must remain on the pool deck area during the session.

Lap swimming

  • All swimmers under the age of 18 must pass a swim test for a green ribbon.
  • We are now allowing four (4) swimmers per lane.
  • Lap lane swimming is on a first-come, first-served, basis.
  • All lap swimmers under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age. This adult must remain on the pool deck.
  • Swimmers will be required to circle swim.
    • When joining other swimmers, wait on the side during one lap until all swimmers have noticed that you have joined the lane. If you are unable to verbally get the attention of a swimmer, please gently tap them on the foot.
    • If you are resting, talking, or stretching, please do so that you are not obstructing the lane end for other lap swimmers.
    • If needing to pass a swimmer, please attempt to notify other swimmers of your intent to pass; tapping a swimmer gently on the foot is a good way to get their attention.
    • If passing mid-lap, pass on the left hand side. Slower swimmers should slow down and move over as far as possible. Please ensure no other swimmer is coming down the lane, as you are passing.
    • If passing at the wall, the slower swimmers should move to the right corner and should not push off the wall until the pass has been completed.

Thank you for your cooperation and respect to your fellow members.
