YMCA School-Age Child Care offers part-time (before and after school) and full-time (no school days, holiday breaks, and summer) child care for children from Kindergarten through 7th grade. School-Age Child Care provides children with a wide variety of academic enrichment activities that help children make new friends, do better in school, enjoy more physical activity, develop new skills, and live with caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Children in our programs benefit from a safe and nurturing environment that incorporates character values, provides positive adult role models, and develops necessary skills.
Incorporating the latest research in Youth Development, YMCA School-Age Child Care create academic enrichment activities to foster each child’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Every day, children engage through a “hands-on, minds-on” approach, allowing children to be physically active and cognitively challenged. Children are given the power of choice to participate in a variety of learning centers such as homework help, STEM, arts and crafts, physical activity, and play.

We know there will be a learning curve for everyone as we head into the 2020–2021 school year, but we also know that we will grow and learn while having FUN at the Y! We’ve created a program model that we guarantee will be a safe and fun experience for every child. Here’s what you can expect:
YMCA staff have been trained in COVID-19 safety practices.
YMCA staff will clean and disinfect throughout the day focusing on high usage areas and surfaces.
We are strongly recommending that staff and members wear masks in YMCA facilities and programs regardless of vaccination status.
Children and YMCA staff will be screened prior to entering the center.
Children and YMCA staff who do not pass the YMCA Health Screening will be required to meet strict return to the program guidelines.
Children will be required to sanitize or wash their hands upon arrival.
To the extent possible, children will remain with the same YMCA staff member/group for the duration of the day.
Children will practice social distancing to the extent possible and within reason.
Children will have multiple handwashing opportunities throughout the day.
Children should bring their own reusable water bottle as drinking from shared water foundations will be prohibited.
The center will have engaging academic activities to help encourage learning and building skills.
Additional mask requirements and quarantine policies apply and may vary by location. Please contact your Child Development site for more information.
