School Day Plus offers flexible, in-person child care for school-age children as well as online learning support at eight locations across the Treasure Valley. Along with academic support, this program offers physical and enrichment activities that will keep youth active and engaged all day long.
Pick your days: Child care is available from 1–5 days per week.
Full day of care: Centers are open Monday–Friday from 7am to 6pm.
Online learning and academic support: This child care program will align with adjusted school district calendars and online learning environments and will provide academic support.
Engaging activities: Along with academic support, this program offers fun physical and enrichment activities
Safety: All programs follow strict COVID-19 safety operating guidelines that meet current Central District Health and Center for Disease Control recommendations. This includes increased cleaning, health screening, facemask wearing, and consistent groups.
Enrollment/registration: Contact the location you are interested in to learn about availability and to enroll. Packets are available by email. Capacity is limited and varies by site.
Financial Assistance: Income-based financial assistance is available to all who qualify. ICCP (Idaho Child Care Program) is also accepted at all of these locations. Speak with center coordinators for YMCA Financial Assistance and ICCP information. Financial Assistance packets will also be at the front desk.
We know there will be a learning curve for everyone as we head into the 2020–2021 school year, but we also know that we will grow and learn while having FUN at the Y! We’ve created a program model that we guarantee will be a safe and fun experience for every child. Here’s what you can expect:
YMCA staff have been trained in COVID-19 safety practices.
YMCA staff will clean and disinfect throughout the day focusing on high usage areas and surfaces.
YMCA Staff will wear face masks.
Children will be required to wear face masks while indoors and outside.
Children and YMCA staff will be screened prior to entering the center.
Children and YMCA staff who do not pass the YMCA Health Screening will be required to meet strict return to the program guidelines.
Children will be required to sanitize or wash their hands upon arrival.
To the extent possible, children will remain with the same YMCA staff member/group for the duration of the day.
Children will practice social distancing to the extent possible and within reason.
Children will have multiple handwashing opportunities throughout the day.
Children should bring their own reusable water bottle as drinking from shared water foundations will be prohibited.
The center will have engaging academic activities to help encourage learning and building skills.
