Overview

Advanced Diving is designed for divers who are looking to compete in the sport. These divers have developed upper level skills and want to take their diving to the next level. They will be coached by former competitive divers so that they may receive important feedback on their development. Participants will have the opportunity to travel to competitive dive meets.

The prerequisites for Advanced Diving are:

• Be able to demonstrate an unassisted front line-up from the 1 meter board.
• Jump off the 3 meter board with comfort and confidence.
• Demonstrate a 1 step hurdle approach as taught in the recreational dive program.
• Participate in at least one session of the Y’s beginner or intermediate sessions
• Receive a certification of achievement from the coaches to join this team

Participants must be able to pass the green swim test (swim 25 yards without touching the bottom or sides of the pool).
