Michelle CMichelle is a Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Senior Fitness Specialist through NASM. She is also a TRX Suspension Trainer and a 4th degree Black Belt in Mixed Martial Arts and Tae Kwon Do. Michelle is personable, knowledgeable, and creative when designing an individualized exercise program to help you meet your goals. By incorporating her Martial Arts background in both external (MMA/Tae Kwon Do) and internal (Tai Chi) disciplines, Michelle’s goal is to help others create a life balance of wellness and fitness.

Donald is Certified Personal Trainer through ACE whose goal is to ensure that you not only learn but enjoy your fitness journey. Donald believes that when you work out, you are not just “working out”, rather you are changing your life. Donald specializes in powerlifting, weight loss, functional training and general fitness. “To me there’s no feeling like helping others achieve their goals, no matter how big or small”

INTERESTS: Weight training, powerlifting, weight loss/management, movement patterns and continually learning. 

Rai began her health and fitness journey with the Y in 2015, participating in group fitness classes. She started teaching P90X in 2018 and has gained several certifications for fitness formats, as well as her personal training certification. She emphasizes the connection between a healthy mind and body and has a specific passion for athletes who are just starting or restarting their fitness journeys.

INTERESTS: Rai enjoys running marathons and obstacle course races.

Downtown Boise YMCA

ChrisChris has worked with the Downtown Boise YMCA since April 2009 and is our Lead Floor Trainer. He performs many of our Fitness Evaluations and is ACE certified in fitness nutrition. Chris has 12 years’ experience as a kickboxing and boxing trainer with a record of 20 wins and 3 losses. Chris is an avid and experienced cyclist, you will see him riding to and from work every day! He is a Group Fitness instructor certified in Bulgarian Bags, EnhanceFitness, and TRX. INTERESTS: Chris enjoys outdoors as much as possible, biking, flying kites, fishing, and gardening.

Elise loves helping people discover their inner athlete, and lives for the moment that you can do “just one more”. Her specialties include high intensity and core strength training. Elise loves the details of excellent technique and will help you move safely. Having the opportunity to work with clients of all levels of experience is what makes personal training so fulfilling for Elise. She is also an experienced Group X instructor, teaching BodyPump, BodyAttack, and CxWorx.

Gina has been a personal trainer for 10 years. She is passionate about helping people feel comfortable in the gym and teaching them that exercise doesn’t need to be complicated. With specializations in Fitness Nutrition, Behavior Change and Nutrition for Weight Loss, Gina can help you reach your goals through small, sustainable changes that produce real results.

Jennifer has been a trainer since 2008. Her specialty certifications include Cancer Exercise Specialist, NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Women’s Strength Training. Jennifer is certified in TRX, kettlebells, and Insanity. As a trainer, Jennifer enjoys helping others take control of their physical health and believes that we are all capable of living healthy lives. Healthy, active bodies come in all shapes and sizes—let her help you be your healthiest self.

INTERESTS: Cycling, family time, and being a “personal assistant” to her Irish dancing daughter.

Jessamine Jones Jessamine values fitness for the improvements it can make in our lives. From increased stability for a great day skiing to building functional strength so we can spend long days gardening, the rewards are huge. She believes that it can be varied and enjoyable in and of itself. Jessamine will help you find exercises and workouts that keep you engaged, but help you achieve measured improvements to meet your fitness goals. Jessamine began her fitness career as a barre fitness instructor, and has an additional prenatal certification. She has also been a ballroom dancer and teacher.  Jessamine has first hand experience recovering from two surgeries—wrist and shoulder—and understands the process of recovery and rebuilding. INTERESTS: Gardening, curling up with a mystery novel, spending time with her dogs Ollie & Roo.

Marla loves helping people improve their health and encouraging all to move their bodies every day. She has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and is certified in Suples Bulgarian Bags & TRX. Marla is a certified Group Exercise Instructor, teaching boot camp and TRX classes.

INTERESTS: She likes running and cycling in the mountains and family time.

Serafin Camacho acquired his enthusiasm for physical health by participating in many sports as he grew up. He graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Fitness Evaluation and Programming and is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C). Serafin is highly passionate about helping people in the community achieve their health and fitness goals through the use of resistance training, circuit training, and HIIT exercises.

INTERESTS: Family time and participating in and watching sports—especially his favorite, which is football.

Susan has over 18 years of experience in the fitness industry and a BAS degree with an emphasis in kinesiology and corrective exercise design. As a group exercise instructor, she has taught various group exercise formats, including step, circuit, PiYo, core strength and flexibility, and indoor cycling. The ability to work one on one with clients as added a new dimension for her to encourage personal growth through healthy living and physical activity. Whether you are looking to gain lean muscle mass, improve athletic performance, or maintain an active, injury-free lifestyle, her personal approach in designing your raining program begins with muscle imbalance assessments, and core, stabilization, and balance training in order to help you reach your fitness goals.

INTERESTS: Susan enjoys cooking, gardening, walking, rollerblading, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, golf, fishing, and camping.

Thisbe has a tremendous love of fitness and nutrition. Not only is Thisbe certified in PT but also in several Les Mills programs including TRX, Pilates, and TaijiFit, which she has been instructing for 15 years. She is currently working on becoming a Fitness Nutrition Specialist to compliment many years of experience. Thisbe knows how to listen, evaluate, coach, and make the process fun! She understands the importance of balance, core strength and flexibility as well as strength training, cardiovascular endurance, and nutrition to help her clients find peak fitness. Always mindful of safety, Thisbe emphasizes form and technique to help improve posture, avoid injuries to get the most out of every workout.

INTERESTS: The mindful practices of Tai Chi and Yoga, and outdoor adventuring with her sons.

I am a former college lacrosse player with a passion for health and wellness. I am excited by the opportunity to share all the good that can come from being mindful of how we treat our bodies and how it relates to our mental health. Having grown up in the Boise area, I have spent most of my life playing in the mountains and rivers c!round Idaho. Through exercise, I have been fascinated with the idea of improving myself physically and mentally and love being able to share what I know with anyone who is interested – all ages and abilities are welcome! INTERESTS: Snowboarding, mountain biking, lacrosse, playing with my dogs, hiking, camping, travel, reading, cooking, spending time with family, coaching, golf, and boating.

Toni has been a trainer since 2018 with specializations in Senior Fitness, Corrective Exercise, Movement Disorder, and Fitness Nutrition. She is also certified in group fitness including cycle, and will add BodyPump in her future! Toni has a passion for injury prevention and recovery, emphasizing proper form and safety with her clients. One of her favorite parts about training is helping others find their confidence and learn that they are more capable than they realize.

INTERESTS: cycling, hiking, paddle-boarding, playing and teaching music, reading, listening to EDM, spending time with family. Toni is a proud member of the American Recorder Society.

Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA

Amy RogalskyAmy has a great passion not only for learning and educating herself in the world of health and fitness but also to help others reach their fitness goals. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and is also certified from the National Personal Training Institute. In addition, she teaches a variety of group exercise classes ranging from cycling, core training, strength training, and Silver Sneakers. Amy loves working with anyone and everyone who is ready to make some goals and loves to have a new challenge. She knows that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Amy also specializes in running, with a runner’s coach certification from Revolution Running. Come train with me! April

April is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. She has a passion for learning different exercise disciplines and teaching others what she has learned. April enjoys designing individual workouts for first time and experienced athletes. April is also a certified Group Exercise Instructor. She teaches a wide variety of classes, including TRX Circuit, HIIT, and Silver Sneakers. She provides TRX coaching for the Boise YMCA Swim Team as well as designing Youth Fit strength and conditioning classes. April enjoys coaching others and seeing them succeed.

INTERESTS: Olympic weight lifting, group fitness training, gymnastics, hockey, and dogs.

Jody Jody has a passion for coaching and helping people reach their full potential. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UW-Madison. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Wellcoaches Certified Health Coach, Jody enjoys working with people who are interested in making healthy lifestyle changes in all areas of their life. In addition to personal training, Jody is also a group exercise and yoga instructor, specializing in flexibility, balance, and strength. Jody also has a NASM specialization in nutrition, weight loss, and behavior change.

INTERESTS: Running, hiking, yoga, music, reading, and spending time with her dogs. Jody is also fluent in Spanish.

Joel Nilsson

Joel is a graduate from Boise State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. He is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). During his time at Boise State, he was an intern at OFFTHEFIELD Sports Training. He has coached and personally trained basketball players, ranging from youth all the way to Division II college basketball. His passion is to improve the quality of life of the people around him by teaching effective training principles, proper movement, and recovery, and helping others achieve their goals.

INTERESTS: Playing basketball, weight lifting, powerlifting, sprinting, volleyball, spikeball, reading, and playing with his dogs.

Michael Michael is a lifelong athlete with a deep-rooted passion for health and wellbeing. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Michael enjoys working with both first-time and experienced athletes. In addition to Personal Training, Michael is also a Certified Group Exercise Instructor, with a wide array of exercise disciplines featured in his classes.

ShalleceShallece Jacobs is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Her specialties include PiYo, running, balance, stretch, and half marathons. Seeing someone push through their struggles and accomplish what they thought was impossible is what Shallece enjoys most about personal training.

INTERESTS: Running, Nutrition and Food Prep, Half Marathons, camping, trail running, PiYO, and spending time with her 3 girls and husband.

Kate is a new personal trainer.

Kate is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. She enjoys motivating clients to make and achieve their fitness goals through consistent effort and positivity. Her goal is to give clients the skills they need to make fitness a joyful part of their daily life. She hopes to help clients discover the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of exercise.

She believes exercise is what helped her get through her treatments with minimal side effects. Amy is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and also is certified in TRX Suspension Training.

Christine Kuzma graduated with a degree in Sport Administration with an emphasis on Fitness over 30 years ago in Canada.

Christine started working at her first YMCA 25 years ago and has brought many new training program opportunities to her Y’s.

Christine works with all ages and abilities ranging from training someone to run their first 5K to high-level athletes.

Christine has seen so many people excel at things they never thought possible. For example, the first time a member could do a full pushup in the TRX straps. Huge successes.

Christine has been an ACE certified personal trainer for 20 years, and a YMCA group exercise instructor. She has taught many formats including, TAC, HIIT, TRX, Sports Conditioning, MOSSA Cardio Step Together, MOSSA Strength Train Together, MOSSA Cycle Together, LES MILLS Body Attack and in 2013 obtained her Level 1 CrossFit certification.

When she is not working she loves to run with her dog, hike, and just be outside enjoying the beauty of our state.

MaggieMaggie is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Specialist, and Weight Loss Specialist. She has a master’s degree in Social Work, and is certified in Enhance Fitness, Moving for Better Balance, and is TRX qualified

INTERESTS: Weight training, hiking, biking or walking the greenbelt, writing, and spending time with her twins.

Michelle Evans is a personal trainer and fitness instructor who works with a variety of members to achieve their fitness goals.

Michelle believes that we can all feel better through a healthy lifestyle and there are many ways to achieve less pain and participate more fully in life.

She has worked with a large variety of people from youth to active older adults, and has helped numerous people through their fitness journey!

Michelle is a NASM Certified personal trainer, and also teaches TRX, Yoga, Tai Chi, Barre, and Strength Train Together.  She also holds the NASM Nutrition Certification, NASM Weight Loss Specialization, and NASM Behavior Change Specialization.

She holds a BS in Computer Science from Montana State University.

Pat Dayton is a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Exercise instructor, and retired RN. She accepts personal training clients at both West Boise and Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA and teaches group exercise at Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA.

Her focus is on muscle strength, flexibility, balance, weight management, and overall well-being. She has improved the lives of many people with different types of health issues and is passionate about helping you meet your exercise and wellness goals.

Pat first started her career in exercise by purchasing 2 fitness centers and becoming a personal trainer. She managed and worked her fitness centers for 15 years after a long career in nursing. She has been teaching group exercise for 13 years licensed in Barre, Zumba, TRX, HIIT, and Strength Train Together. Pat also Is a facilitator for the YMCA’s Weight Loss Program.

INTERESTS: Fitness education, gardening, volunteering for Camp Rainbow Gold, and spending time with my family and dogs.
