Youth Summer Basketball League offers the opportunity for players going into 5th through 9th grades (boys and girls) to play basketball throughout the summer months. This an open league, meaning teams can be formed based on the team’s need. Players can be from any school and vary in grades and can play with both old and new friends. Start forming your team today!
REGISTRATION AND ROSTER DEADLINE: May 26
Prior to registering PLEASE REVIEW the following information:
- The Treasure Valley Family YMCA seeks to strengthen our community through sport.
- Regardless of your team’s background or standing all those participating or attending are required to act within YMCA values of caring, honest, respect, and responsibility.
- We reserve the right to remove any individual or team from play and/or the league for conduct outside of these values.

Regular Season: June 6 – July 25
Tourney (optional): July 27 – August 10
Game Times: Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, & 8:00
(2) 20 minute running clock halves / 3 minute half time / Regulation time final 2 minutes of game (Full rules found under “Downloads”)

End-of-Season Tournament (Optional) Each team guaranteed 1 game in tourney

FEES: $500 Team Fee
Optional Tourney Participation Fee: $50 (If unsure teams have until July 14th to confirm tourney participation)
Boys: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
Girls: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
Players may play UP to any grade level. Players may NOT play down a grade level.
Premier: Premier league is designed for club levels teams and/or those teams who wish to compete at a high level.
Competitive: Designed for teams who may be newly formed, Y-Ball teams, or teams who may be unsure of the premier level.
If you’re unsure of appropriate placement contact 855-5711 to ensure you are entered correctly. Teams will not be allowed to switch divisions once games begin.
7 player roster minimum (No maximum)
Must be submitted to YMCA Sports Office at Homecourt or firstname.lastname@example.org at time of registration.
Players may be added or move teams through June 29th. Following June 29th only players on the updated roster may participate in the game. Players may play on multiple teams in separate divisions but may NOT play on multiple teams within the same division.
All parents/guardians must either sign the roster acknowledging the YMCA liability waiver or complete a supplemental liability waiver prior to participating. The supplemental waiver must be provided to the YMCA Sports Office.
Teams must provide a numbered light and dark jersey option. This can range from a t-shirt to full uniform set.
The YMCA does not sanction nor schedule practices for summer league teams. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide contact information or connection to local schools and or facilities out of respect for our relationship for each. If your team would like to seek practice this must be done on your own. The YMCA does not provide liability coverage for practice facilities during the summer league program. You may register your team through aausports.org and seek coverage there or explore other options. YMCA staff will not assist with this process.
Given the inherently competitive nature of this program and the varying skill levels please know that, on occasion, game outcomes are not close in score. While the goal is to have competitive games throughout the season it is not always the case. We ask that you recognize this fact prior to signing up and understand that, despite a “lopsided” score, you must treat ALL with caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility no matter which end of the result you are on. Unfortunately, within a sport, there is a winner and a loser. However, it is how we teach youth to react to these outcomes that truly matters.
Once registered and following season start there a NO REFUNDS for this program. Please ensure that all families understand the nature of this league and that it is the right fit for you.
