Treasure Valley Family YMCA Races & Fun Runs embody the Y’s cause by being available for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. They give adults, children, and families the ability to raise their spirits and their heartbeats through fun and competitive races throughout the year.
The YMCA Race Series
Each year, the Treasure Valley Family YMCA hosts seven flagship events to bring the community together in the spirit of health, wellness, celebration, and a little friendly competition.

YMCA Harrison Classic Kids’ Race
- Everyone is a winner at the YMCA Harrison Classic Kids’ Run! Take a jog down Boise’s scenic Harrison Boulevard in a one-mile kids run/walk is all-inclusive and family-friendly.

YMCA Halloween Run
- Trick out your costume and treat yourself to a ghoulish-good time at the YMCA Halloween Run! Choose from the Monster Mile or Freaky 5k course and run (for your life)! Have fun, be creative, and win prizes for the best costume!

YMCA Christmas Run
- It’s always the most wonderful time of the year at the YMCA Christmas Run! Create a new family tradition or continue a long-standing one and celebrate the holiday season by running or walking together. Santa will be at the start, be there to make sure he puts you on the Nice list!

YMCA St. Patrick’s Day Run
- Feel the luck of the Irish as you race along the Greenbelt in this 5K or 1 Mile Leprechaun Dash

YMCA Easter Run
- New for 2026! Join us at the YMCA Easter Run. Let’s ring in the Spring with some fun for the whole family on a scenic 5K or 1-mile run along the Boise Greenbelt.

YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon
- Our biggest race of the year! The Famous Idaho Potato Marathon offers a unique opportunity to experience Boise’s scenic beauty while challenging yourself on a well-organized, supportive course. Join the fun with the 5K or 10K distances or push your limits with the half or full marathon.

Capitol Classic Children’s Run
- Open to kids ages 3-15 of all abilities, this one-of-a-kind, one-mile journey hits the heart of Boise, beginning in front of the State Capitol, with participants racing down Jefferson, up Bannock, and back to Cecil D. Andrus Park.

YMCA Treasure Valley Triathlon
- The largest adaptive triathlon in the western US, this crit-style race offers a thrilling experience, with a Quinn’s Pond swim, a scenic bike ride through Garden City, and a run on the greenbelt at Ester Simplot Park. This tri is open to participants of all abilities (para-tri friendly!) and includes a Youth Splash and Dash for the kiddos to join the fun.

YMCA Presents the Tobin Bolter Memorial Kids’ Duathlon
- Hosted by the Treasure Valley YMCA and Ada County, this event invites young athletes to test their endurance and build confidence in a supportive, high-energy environment. Designed for kids ages 14 and under, the duathlon features race distances tailored to each age group, giving every child the chance to shine.

Team Idaho
Team Idaho was started in 1979 to provide a grassroots opportunity for youth to participate in Track & Field. The first year, the club had 15 kids. Today, the club has over 600 participants. The goal of Team Idaho is to help participants at all levels improve their specific Track & Field skills, make new friends, and have fun. We offer programs for Youth Cross Country, Summer Track & Field, Pole Vault Training, Winter Indoor Track, and more.
