Now a Virtual Triathlon

The Spring (Summer) Sprint Triathlon is a great triathlon for beginners or seasoned triathletes. Whether you are an adult or a youth you can select the distance that works for you and your training. Come join the fun and give the Summer Sprint Virtual Triathlon a try! Complete the event Wednesday, July 8th – Sunday, July 12th.

The YMCA has decided to change the Spring/Summer Sprint Triathlon to a virtual event due to the uncertainty surrounding group gatherings & events.  The safety and well-being of our participants and staff are of the highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and patience as navigate this fluid situation in our community.  We are looking forward to keeping you active and moving in this new way of racing.

Here’s How It Works:
Whether you registered for the long or short course or a relay team the idea is the same.  You complete the legs of the triathlon during the time frame July 8th – 12th.  You can still use the YMCA pools, the original course maps or do something that you prefer or that is closer to home. The best part is you get decide when to do it!

For the Swim: Long Course 15 laps (750 yd) Short Course 4 laps (200 yd)
If you swim at a YMCA facility you will need make a reservation for your lane. All reservations are for 45 mins. To make a reservation click here>>MotionVibe is our new reservation service for the pools and classes. You will have to create a password, select your Y location of choice and then click “Club Activity” to see the options at the facility. This process works for members and non-members.  *Reservations can only be made 24 hrs in advance of when you want to swim. **You must have photo ID to enter a YMCA facility if you are not a member. Please bring your photo ID to the swim.

Bike & Run:  Be sure to print out your bib number!
You are welcome to use the original courses that we have used for over 20 years. Links to the courses are below. Now you can ride and run when you are ready, on your own time frame. Remember to follow the rules of the road, there will not be any road guides or support on the course. Please adhere to physical distancing when riding and running.

Long Course: 750 Yard Swim (15 Laps) | 12.5 Mile Bike | 3.1 Mile Run

Packet Pick-Up: T-shirts and medals will be available at TriTown Bicycle located at 1510 N 13th St., Boise. You can stop in between July 8th -13th to pick up your swag and get last minute supplies for your race. TriTown Bicycle hours are Mon-Fri 10-6, Sat, 10-4, Closed Sunday.

Pre-Race Bib: Bibs are available for you to print and wear during your race. Learn how to find and print your bib number.

Youth

Early Registration: Jan 1-April 26 $40
Open Registration: Aprril 27 - June 29 $45
Late Registration: June 30- July 8 $50

Adult

Early Registration: Jan 1-April 26 $50
Open Registration: April 27- June 28 $55
Late Registration: June 29 -July 8 $65

*Participants who register during Late Registration will be added to the end of the Friday swim schedule.

Relay Fees: fees include a race t-shirt

Policies

Race Refund Policy:
Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to the race/event will receive no refund. Cancellations made more than 15 days prior will receive a 50% refund either as a check or a system credit. The system credit may only be applied to another YMCA race/event within the current calendar year. Entries, once purchased, may not be transferred, resold, exchanged, or given to another person. We hope very much that you are able to join us on race day. We value your participation and want to provide you with a memorable and quality race day. Please contact the Race Director at racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org with any questions.

If moving to the virtual event is not something you would like to do please review the options below:

  1. Donate your registration fee to the YMCA. Your support is needed now more than ever to sustained the YMCA and our annual campaign.
  2. Move to another Y Event – we are hoping to get back to in-person events soon and we can transfer your fee to one of those events.
  3. Request a refund of your registration fee. The refund process takes about 14-18 business days. Email us at racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org with the subject Triathlon Refund.
