ACCOUNTABILITY

Having a prominent place in the home to post your goals to see every day and track your progress will be key in these first days. Having an accountability buddy (an AccountabiliBuddy) or partner in the challenge will provide the motivation you need within your existing network. No. Anyone can join and it’s totally free!

The challenge will run for 6 weeks between Monday, October 12th, and Friday, November 20th. During the week of October 5th challenge participants will be able to visit any of our 4 branches to pick up their starter kit which consists of Y swag and tools to help them track the challenge and experience success.

Registration for the challenge is open until October 16 and is done through a simple form on our website.

Non-members can sign up for a free trial membership as part of your Y Strong Community Challenge participation. Your local YMCA staff can help you get signed up.

A buddy to help you stay motivated and accountable during the Challenge. Anyone can be an accountabili-buddy, ask your friend, family member, neighbor, or coworker!

WEEKLY TRACKER

Yes. Each week of the Challenge you will receive 3 motivational texts and one email to keep you going! Visit the Y STRONG Facebook page daily to keep up with your teammate’s wins and share your progress. 

Yes! The Y is offering a free trial membership for Challenge participants. If you’d like to sign up for a trial membership, speak with someone at the front desk for details and restrictions when you come in to pick up your starter kit.

Once the Challenge is complete, after Nov. 20, bring your filled out Weekly Tracker back to your Y to pick up your t-shirt.

Yes! The health and safety of our members, staff, and community are our top priorities. Please visit our COVID-19 information page to read more about our cleaning and safety protocols.

COVID-19 UPDATES

We recommend that everyone who visits our facilities wear masks. We require masks in our Downtown Boise, South Meridian, and West Boise facilities following the mask order from Central District Health. Learn more here.

We also require masks for anyone checking kids into Kid Zone and during our Vulnerable Populations hour each day. See here for details.

Yes. All staff will have a temperature and wellness check before entering the facility. All staff will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, including masks.

  • All visitors to the Y will be required to take a wellness self-assessment before entering the facility and we ask that you not enter the facility if symptoms are present.
  • Masks are required at our Downtown Boise, South Meridian, and West Boise facilities, following the mask order from Central District Health. We also recommend that all members wear masks at all facilities.
  • Please maintain a minimum of 6’ x 6’ sq. foot distance in all facility spaces.
  • Additional distancing may be required in the weight room and other movement-based locations.
  • Disinfect weight and cardio equipment before and after use.
  • Sanitize your hands before and after working out either by washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or by using hand sanitizer.
